Introduction

The Textile Material Feel Style Evaluation Instrument (CHES-FY) is designed to objectively assess the tactile properties of fabrics, simulating the mechanical sensation of human fingertips. Using a biomimetic indenter system, the instrument measures multiple mechanical deformations—compression, bending, friction, and tension—to generate quantitative indicators such as surface compression thickness, bending resistance, friction coefficient, and tensile slope.

Jointly developed with Donghua University, this instrument features independent intellectual property rights, including national invention and utility model patents (Patent No.: ZL 201821326568.2). It provides accurate, reproducible, and objective evaluations of fabric softness, smoothness, stiffness, tightness, and overall hand feel style, supporting product design, production control, and final application assessment.

Applications

The instrument is widely used for:

Textile product R&D: Optimize fabric hand feel and tactile quality.

Quality control: Monitor consistency in production batches.

Material comparison: Evaluate alternative fabrics or blends.

Fashion and apparel testing: Ensure consumer-preferred tactile characteristics.

Standard compliance: Meet domestic and international textile testing requirements.

It is suitable for woven, knitted, coated, and composite fabrics.

Applicable Standards

The instrument complies with:

T/CTES 1017-2019 – Textile hand feel evaluation standard

FZ/T 01171-2023 – Textile material tactile property testing

These standards ensure reliable, repeatable, and globally recognized test results.

Advantages and Features

Bionic Finger Design: Cylindrical indenter simulates human fingers with fine lines mimicking fingerprints.

Offset Three-Point Indenter: One on top, two on the bottom, simulating natural human touch.

Multi-Indicator Measurement: Softness, stiffness, smoothness, tightness, and comprehensive hand feel evaluation.

Advanced Mechanical and Software Integration: High control precision, stable performance, and cost-effective operation.

Quick and Simple Operation: Single-machine, single-measurement capability (~4 minutes per test).

Strong After-Sales Support: Fast troubleshooting, complete spare parts, and timely standard updates.
