Introduction

A Film Impact Tester is a device designed to measure how well a film or thin material can withstand sudden impact or shock without breaking, cracking, or puncturing. It is commonly used in laboratories and quality control environments. The film impact testing machine, through the hemispherical punch at a certain speed, impacts and passes through the film sample, measures the energy consumed by the punch, and evaluates the anti-pendulum impact energy of the film sample.

The sample to be measured is placed in the middle of two splints to clamp, and the pendulum is adjusted by counterweight to form enough mechanical energy to impact the surface of the sample to be measured during the impact process to break down or not break down the sample to be measured. The energy borne by the sample to be measured is the loss part of the total mechanical energy formed by the pendulum during the impact process, and is read out on the dial through the pointer.

Standards

FAQ

(1) What is this product?

A Film Impact Tester is a laboratory testing instrument designed to measure the impact resistance and toughness of thin materials, such as plastic films, sheets, and flexible packaging materials. It helps determine a material’s ability to withstand sudden external force without failure.

(2) What is this product used for?

This product is used to:

Evaluate impact strength and puncture resistance of films

Test durability of packaging materials

Compare performance of different materials

Support quality control and product development

It is especially important in ensuring that materials can resist damage during handling, transportation, and storage.

(3) How does this product work?

The machine typically operates using a controlled impact method:

A film specimen is clamped securely in place.

A weighted dart or pendulum is released from a set height.

The weight impacts the film surface.

The system records whether the sample fails and calculates the impact energy required to cause damage.

Results are used to determine the material’s impact resistance performance.

(4) Why is this product important?

Ensures product safety and packaging reliability

Reduces risk of damage during shipping and handling

Helps optimize material thickness and cost efficiency
