Introduction

The fire retardant wood stack method combustion test device is developed based on GA/T42.1 standard. The MDF-1 type is designed to test the combustion quality loss rate and flame burning time of flame-retardant-impregnated wood with a thickness over 20mm, used in production and engineering, under specified conditions.

Application

This standard is applicable to testing the mass loss rate and flaming combustion time of various types of wood used in production and engineering, with a thickness of 20 mm or more, after flame-retardant impregnation treatment, under specified combustion conditions.

Standards

GB/T 17658-2018: Test of burning behavior for flame retardant treated wood—Method of test for fire propagation

GA/T 42.2-92: Test method for fire propagation of flame-retardant treated wood (Fire tube method)

ISO 834-1:1999: Fire-resistance tests—Elements of building construction—Part 1: General requirements

EN 1363-1:2012: Fire resistance tests—Part 1: General requirements

Specimen Preparation

1. The specimen size is 76mm×13mm×13mm, the cutting error is ±1mm, and the surface is required to be smooth and flat. Three sets of 24 pieces were prepared for each test piece.

2. The specimen is cut 0.6mm away from the longitudinal end of the wood, less than 1m long wood, and cut from the middle to both sides.

3. the specimen cut from the upper and lower sides of the width of the wood along the thickness direction parallel cut 13mm×13mm test piece two layers, and then cut 76mm along the length direction of the test piece, the remaining center part is not sampled.

4. before the test, the specimen must be at a temperature of 23±2oC, relative humidity (50±5) % of the condition, so that its quality is constant. The determination condition is the interval of 24h, the mass change of two weighing before and after each group is not more than 1%.
