Category:Flammability Tester

Introduction

The Minimum Ignition Temperature Tester is a way of testing the sensitivity of the ignition that the dust cloud is in the heated environment. When a lot of dust is exposed in heating the air and the air temperature is high enough, it may lead to spontaneous combustion. This method can test the minimum ignition temperature of combustible dust cloud.

Application

Ignition temperature testers are widely used in chemical, petroleum, and fire safety industries to assess and control potential fire risks. These instruments use precise temperature control systems to heat the substance under test and monitor its reaction during the heating process to determine if ignition or spontaneous combustion occurs. Safety design and automation are key features of these instruments, ensuring that the heating process is not excessive or does not trigger unnecessary fires, while automatically recording test data for subsequent analysis.

Feature

High-precision control: By precisely controlling the sample environment and isolating external heat exchange, the instrument simulates temperature changes under extreme storage or transportation conditions, thereby accelerating the exothermic or endothermic reaction processes within the sample.

Multiple test modes: Suitable for different types of flammable liquids, gases, and solids, enabling the assessment of the potential hazards of these substances.

Fast measurement:  Very short test times can be achieved through active temperature control consisting of ceramic heating elements and automatic air cooling.

Data recording and analysis: The instrument can monitor and record key parameters such as temperature, pressure, and heat release during the reaction process in real time, providing important safety assessment data for the research, development, production, storage, and transportation of chemicals.

Accessoriess

Ignition wire, sample crucible, temperature sensor, control unit, power adapter, and necessary connecting cables.

Test Procedures

The test is conducted in a Godbert-Greenwald furnace. The furnace consists of a vertical quartz tube with a small hole at the bottom. The top of the quartz tube is connected to a glass observation chamber and a sample holder. Compressed air is blown from a gas tank, carrying the dust into the furnace and sample holder, and then into the glass observation chamber and the quartz tube. The furnace is mounted on a stand, allowing the combustion phenomenon to be observed from the bottom of the furnace. The test starts at 500℃. If combustion is observed, the temperature should be lowered by 10℃ until no further combustion occurs.
