Fuel Cell Air Intake Filter Test System
Category:Filter Cartridge Filtration Tester
Introduction
Test system for fuel cell air intake filtersThe test system. For testing combination filters is based on established test system. Air filter testing can be done with various types of particle-based test aerosols as well as different reference test gases.
The Fuel Cell Air Intake Filter Test System serves for testing the inlet filters of fuel cells by particles and gases. The test duct and the flow rate unit are upscaled to handle bigger filter dimensions and higher flow rates compared to the original ISO 11155 requirements.
The tests are performed with different test aerosols (salt, oil) and test gases. Filter elements of different designs as well as filter media can be placed into the test duct via a filter adapter. The following filter characteristics can be determined: differential pressure curves, dust loading and fractional efficiency in close accordance to ISO 11155-1 (DIN 71460-1), adsorption tests in close accordance to ISO 11155-2 (DIN 71460-2), recording of adsorption and desorption curves.
Applications
Quality control during filter production
Research and development of new filter materials and filter element configurations
Benchmarking of different filter elements
Standards
ISO 11155-2
DIN 71460-2
ISO 11155-1
DIN 71460-1
Benefits
Gas-tight test channels
Modular structure
High degree of automation
Software-based test sequences
Standardised report
Principle
A defined volume flow rate is sucked through a HEPA inlet filter and through the connected test duct. The test filter can be pre-mounted on a filter adapter and easily inserted to the test duct.
