Introduction
Product Introduction
The Coated Fabric Flexure Tester is designed to evaluate the flexing durability and mechanical fatigue resistance of coated fabrics, synthetic leather, laminated textiles, and other flexible materials. During testing, a rectangular specimen is mounted between two opposing cylinders—one performing rotational motion while the other reciprocates axially. This alternating compression and relaxation produces continuous folding stress until the specimen fails or the specified number of cycles is achieved.
This test method simulates long-term bending and folding conditions that coated fabrics experience in real-world applications, including protective clothing, inflatable structures, tents, automotive interiors, and industrial composite materials.
Application Fields
Coated fabrics
Synthetic leather
Laminated and composite fabrics
Industrial protective textiles
Automotive interior materials
Outdoor gear and tent fabrics
PVC/PU-coated technical textiles

ISO 7854 — Determination of flexing endurance for coated fabrics
GB/T 12586, Method B — Flex resistance test for coated fabrics
BS 3424: Part 9 — Methods for coated fabrics: flexing endurance
Other related flexure durability standards

FAQ
1. What types of materials can be tested using this flexure tester?
It is suitable for coated fabrics, synthetic leather, laminated textiles, flexible composites, outdoor fabrics, and various PVC/PU-coated materials.
2. What does the test simulate?
The instrument simulates repeated bending, folding, and compressive deformation that materials experience during long-term use—helping predict cracking, delamination, or coating failure.
3. How many specimens can be tested at the same time?
The tester includes 6 clamping units, allowing up to six specimens to run simultaneously for high testing efficiency.
4. Does the tester comply with international standards?
Yes, it fully meets ISO 7854, GB/T 12586 Method B, BS 3424:9, and other flex-durability test standards.
5. How is the test speed controlled?
A precision motor with closed-loop control ensures stable rotational speed at 8.3 Hz ± 0.4 Hz, meeting the strict requirements of the standards.
