Introduction

The Automatic High-Temperature High-Shear Viscosity Tester is designed for  precise determination of lubricating oil apparent viscosity under high  temperature and high shear rates in compliance with ASTM D5481 and SH/T 0703.  The instrument features infrared variable-frequency heating, touch-screen  interface, and proprietary high-shear viscosity control software. Fully  automated functions include sample loading, measurement, data acquisition, and  report printing. Equipped with pressure and over-temperature protection, it  ensures safe, accurate, and efficient operation for laboratories and quality  control applications.

Application

The Automatic High-Temperature High-Shear Viscosity Tester is primarily used  to measure the apparent viscosity of lubricating oils under high-temperature and  high-shear conditions. The testing principle is as follows: under test  conditions of 150 °C and under the pressure of nitrogen (or carbon dioxide), the  sample flows through a capillary viscometer. Based on the flow time of the  sample and the applied pressure, the apparent viscosity at a given shear rate  can be determined. Using calibration curves for each viscometer capillary, the  corresponding viscosity of the oil sample is obtained according to the measured  pressure.
