Introduction

The Ink Drying Tester is designed and manufactured according to the Chinese Light Industry Standard QB562 “Methods for Testing Ink Drying”. It provides a reliable method to determine the drying time of inks. The drying time is defined as the time required for an ink sample, with a specified amount of siccative added, to prevent adhesion of tracing paper under a defined pressure, expressed in hours. Testing is conducted by comparing the standard reference sample with the test sample. The instrument uses microcontroller control and LCD display for test parameters.

Application

(1) Determination of ink drying time for gravure, flexographic, or offset inks

(2) Quality control of ink formulations in R&D laboratories

(3) Comparison of standard ink vs. modified ink drying performance

(4) Laboratory evaluation of printing substrates and coatings

Standards

(1) QB 562-1991 Method for Testing Ink Drying Time
