Shoelace Anti-Siphon Tester
Category:Footwear Strength Tester
Introduction
The Shoelace Anti-Siphon Tester is designed to evaluate the waterproof and anti-siphon performance of various footwear materials, including waterproof leather, mesh, shoelaces, ribbons, and other components. Using static suspension methods, the tester measures the height of water climb to assess the material’s resistance to water ingress and wicking behavior. It is suitable for laboratory testing of footwear materials, components, and finished products.
Applications
(1)Testing waterproof leather and synthetic leather used in shoes for water ingress resistance.
(2)Evaluation of mesh and textile shoe components for static anti-siphon performance.
(3)Assessment of shoelaces, ribbons, and webbing for moisture penetration under static immersion.
(4)Quality control in footwear manufacturing, ensuring materials meet moisture resistance standards.
(5)R&D evaluation of new waterproof coatings or treatments applied to leather, textiles, and shoelaces.
(6)Laboratory testing in academic, research, and industrial labs for anti-siphon behavior of footwear materials.
Standards
(1)GB/T 17219 — Test Method for Water Repellency of Textile Materials
(2)EN 1717 — Protection Against Contamination of Drinking Water by Backflow
(3)ASTM F2023 — Test Method for Water Resistance of Shoe Components
(4)ISO 3822-4 — Textiles — Determination of Water Repellency and Wicking
